Past: Lucid, enlightened, and grateful acceptance.
Present: Admire—look, see, discover, hear, listen, pay attention, wonder, joy.
Future: Affirmed and confident hope.
Things and events:
Person: A continuous, constant, and lasting source of originality, novelty, and spontaneity.
I have all the time in the world to listen to you. You are important to me, and what you have to say interests me.
Being a Christian is not about accepting Jesus' theories, merely following his moral rules, or simply adopting his lifestyle. It is not just about celebrating the worship he instituted. Being a Christian means believing that he is alive and present among those who, in fraternity, gather in his name.
Cursillos, because of their connection to the Gospel, energize faith, awaken creativity, and empower life.
Simple but not easy, concrete but not immediate, possible but not without effort.
Move forward by knowing how to believe, not by believing you know.
Some want to learn by studying what can only be understood through love.
“No matter how valuable a man may be, he will never have a value higher than that of simply being human".
The superior value of humanity attracts people more than the high value of science, technology, art, or skill.
A person inspires deep admiration.
A character provokes envy among equals and admiration from fools.
Person vs. Character:
Structures create characters; friendship reveals people.
A man is greater by the attitude he adopts toward what he cannot do than by what he can do.
The character causes envy in his peers and admiration in fools.
A character consumes the person.
Savor the "we," eliminate any "you," and learn the good from "them."
Admiration, wonder, and understanding eliminate distances and create closeness to both God and men.
No one can truly be a person without their own consent. Being a person means affirming the best in oneself before oneself, without losing sight of the opinions of those who truly love them (Christ and friends).
Love what you desire, desire what you love.
What is worn out from being said too often can sometimes feel new and surprising when put into action.
